Sunburst Shutters Company History: How We Brought Custom Shutters to Chicago
Sunburst Shutters was started in the early '70s in Phoenix, AZ, by people who knew they could make a better shutter than any other on the market.
The goal to be the best shutter company has turned every aspect of the window treatment business on its head. Sunburst offered an in-home consultation where design experts brought samples into a customer’s residence to guide them in choosing the best window treatment product. With that in mind, Sunburst set out to hire sales staff that were well-mannered and friendly – and, at the same time, experienced and helpful. Homeowners across America quickly fell in love with Sunburst Shutters.
In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the common window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters gave consumers a longer lasting and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters.
At first, the company offered wood shutters only. But it became evident fast that Sunburst should make the ultimate shutter – one that provides maximum energy efficiency, and looks as elegant 20 years from now as the day you had it installed. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst revealed its Polywood Shutters.
Once Sunburst offered the first class shutters in the marketplace, they grew extensively, opening stores across America. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters broadened its selection into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
Now, Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions offers any treatment for any size or shape of window – all custom-built and professionally installed. With more than 2,000 window treatment choices and options, Sunburst is the ultimate source of window treatment products in the nation.
